The Flu season is upon us 😷 Many of my friends and family have been hit hard with the flu the past few weeks.

I heard about elderberry syrup about 7 years ago, and started researching the benefits:

*long history of medicinal use

*higher in antioxidants than almost all other berries

*may help relieve flu and cold symptoms and prevent them in the first place

*they have anthocyanidins which naturally boost your immune system

*ease allergies

*high in vitamin A & C

*they have LOTS of other benefits, look it up!

*Benefits of raw honey: antibacterial/antifungal properties, natural allergy relief, natural energy, high in antioxidants, relieves dry/sore throat, has healing properties.

*The oils I add help pack a punch also with the elderberry syrup:

🌟Thieves – This is a seriously amazing blend of clove, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus radiata and rosemary. It was created based on a legend about a group of 15th century thieves who rubbed oils on themselves to avoid contracting the plague while they robbed the bodies of the dead and dying. I’m just going out on a limb here and saying, this is powerful.

🌟Nutmeg – Besides tasting and smelling festive, this oil encourages optimal digestive function, combats inflammation, soothes sore joints and promotes cardiovascular health.

🌟Clove – This is one of the main single oils in the Thieves blend, but has so much to offer that adding a little more just seems like more of a really good thing. It’s said that the people on the island of Ternate were free from epidemics until the 16th century, when Dutch conquerors destroyed the clove trees on the island. Many of the islanders died from the epidemics that followed. It is a powerful immune booster and also helps soothe and calm pain.

🌟Ginger – Part of keeping the immune system in tip-top shape is keeping digestion optimal. Over 90% of the immune system resides in the gut, so using ginger, with it’s ability to stimulate and regulate digestion, only seems natural.

🌟Cinnamon Bark – Another oil already found in the Thieves blend, cinnamon bark is a powerful immune booster.

🌟Frankincense – One of the gifts given to Jesus by the Three Wise Men, frankincense has been used for centuries to “treat every every conceivable ill known to man.” It is known to boost the immune system and relax the body.

Elderberry Syrup can be taken regularly as a flu/cold preventive and daily (2-3x) if cold symptoms appear.

1/2-1 tablespoon for adults

1/2-1 teaspoon for kids over 1yr old (contains raw honey)
